Photos From The Hill

My home in Northern Pennsylvania is surrounded by a mixture of woods with ample farmland, a short distance away.
With second growth timber and crops, there simply is no better habitat for wildlife.
The previous owner kept a saltblock in the field and put corn and apples out for the wild game. I continued that routine and it has allowed me to observe and photograph many animals at close range.

Survivor

I first saw this buck on July 2nd, 2001. During the summer months he ran with 3 or 4 other nice bucks most of the time. I will post pictures of those bucks in the following pages.

In the fall and through winter I dedicated the archery and gun seasons to the pursuit of this buck. There were several close encounters but I am convinced he had me patterned regardless of how many changes I made in my hunting routine.

This photo was taken a few days past the closing of the late archery season. He was no more than 10 yards from my kitchen window! He continues to visit morning and evening on most days for the corn that I spread.
